Abui has a (yellow) smooth skin and a juicy, soft (white) inside flesh texture that is similar to a ripe pear.

• Where does it grow?
Abui is native to South America. Being a rare fruit, it only grows in warm and moist regions of Central America, the Caribbean, and South Africa in addition to South America.

• How do you eat it?
Abui is mostly eaten raw by cutting and scooping the fruit. It’s also dried as a snack, and added to sweet desserts and preserves.
